Carbon SheetsAvailable in hot rolled, hot rolled P & O, cold rolled and stainless steel. Please call for more information. |
|
Hot Rolled | Low carbon commercial quality sheet. Soft enough to bend flat on itself in any direction without cracking, ductile enough for shallow drawing. Carbon is .10 max for improved welding and forming. Surface has normal mill oxide. |
Hot Rolled P & O | Acid pickling removes mill oxide, improving surface appearance, uniformity and finishing quality. Paint and enamel adhere well after cleaning. Used in stamping, drawing, roll forming, auto and truck parts, and farm implements. |
Cold Rolled | Tighter tolerances on thickness. Intended for parts involving severe forming or drawing. Surface finish is a dull matte texture. |
Stainless Steel SheetsCorrosion resistance, high strength at elevated temperature, strength and ductility at cryogenic temperatures, oxidation resistance at high temperatures and beautiful appearance. |
|
S.S. 304 | A non-hardenable austenitic low carbon chromium-nickel steel which is a general purpose corrosion resisting steel. This grade is non magnetic in the annealed condition, but is slightly magnetic when cold worked. |
S.S. 304L | A very low carbon austenitic chromium-nickel steel with general corrosion resistance similar to 304 but with superior resistance to intergranular corrosion following welding or stress relieving. The low carbon content limits the formation of harmful carbides to such an extent that this grade may be safely used in place of stabilized types of stainless for most articles of welded construction, where the surface temperature is limited to 800 degrees F. Postweld annealing is not necessary in most cases. |
S.S. 316 | A non-hardenable austenitic chromium-nickel steel with superior corrosion and heat resisting qualities. This grade is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and is slightly magnetic when cold worked. |
S.S. 316L | A very low carbon austenitic chromium-nickel steel with general corrosion resistance similar to 316 but with superior resistance to intergranular corrosion following welding or stress relieving. It is recommended for products which are welded during fabrication and which cannot be readily annealed after welding. The addition of molybdenum provides an extra measure of corrosion resistance making this grade particularly suitable for applications involving severe corrosive conditions such as use in the chemical industry and marine atmospheres. |
